Update 2019-04-13, 18h: "Brussels, here we come..."

The weather forecast for tonight is typical Belgian: a mixture of clouds and clear sky, but good enough for us! So yes, we'll be there with our telescopes. Luckily we have a few small vans, because they're full of telescopes :-).

See you tonight in Brussels?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One century go, the International Astronomical Union (IAU for short, now having more than 10.000 members- mostly professional astronomers) was founded - in Brussels of all places!

That's why the main flagship event of this 100th anniversary will be held in Brussels once again, on Thursday 11 April and Friday 12 April, followed by the "Amateur Astronomers Day" on Saturday 13 April (targeted at the amateur astronomers as you will guess).

And we -MIRA Public Observatory of Grimbergen- will be organising the final event: a stargazing evening right in the centre of Brussels, close to the iconic and world-famous "Grand-Place". Everyone -tourists, locals, astronomers- will be welcome to have a look through our telescopes: the Moon will be a wonderful sight that evening!

Where? Agora square, "wedged in between the Bergstraat / Rue de la Montagne and the Grasmarkt / Rue du Marché aux Herbes"

When? Saturday April 13th, between 21h and Midnight, but only if the weather is clear (check this website for last-minute updates)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
